Slow down in nature's embrace

Visitors may be forgiven for thinking that the enchanting regions of Chianti, Sienna and Florence are all Tuscany has to offer, but Lunigiana is an area rich in history and tradition.

The two houses are set apart but connected by a path through the estate’s vineyards and an easily drivable lane. They were both originally farms serving Bastia, a nearby ancient hill top castle, and have been sympathetically restored to retain a rustic feel. They are arranged around a courtyards in the traditional fashion and accompanied by a delightful private chapel at the entrance to the estate which is available for visitor use.

The interiors of both houses retain much of the original detail. Thoughtful lighting emphasizes the many contrasts including exposed stone walls, arches and original chestnut wood beamed ceilings. Furnishings combine traditional design with modern comfort and practicality. Both have stunning pools. All bathrooms have contemporary fittings with handmade tiles and fitted with luxury “Cowshed” soaps and hair products.

A caretaker lives full time on the estate. His home is situated on the upper level of a converted barn adjacent to Casa Dell’Angelo and faces away from the main house.

He can provide guidance on the area, book restaurants and even cook a homemade pizza. Extra cleaning services and a chef are available if pre-booked.

A table tennis table, badminton set and football table are available on request at both properties. Towels for bathrooms and separate ones for the pool as well as hairdryers are provided. Cleaning materials, detergents, loo paper, candles, charcoal for the BBQ etc. plus a welcome hamper of all the usuals including two bottles of the estate made wine are left by the Caretaker for guests on arrival. Wi-fi is available inside and out and the houses are fitted with free-to-use internet land lines.
