This pleasingly configured old farmhouse accommodates twelve guests in six bedrooms, three of which are downstairs, converted from what was originally the cantina, two with double beds and doors to the outside. The third bedroom downstairs has bunk beds and a cot. These three bedrooms share a bathroom and a shower room. Upstairs one double bedroom is en-suite and two other double bedrooms, both of which can be converted into twin rooms on request, share a spacious bathroom.
This superb and very spacious modern living space was converted from the original chestnut barn and has a high ceiling with traditional chestnut cross beams. The custom-designed kitchen includes marble work surfaces, a professional oven and a large American fridge/freezer. The dining table can easily accommodate twelve people. The comfortable sitting area is fitted with an open fireplace and Bose sound system.
The house is sided by steep banks to streams, both in view, hence its name, and gives the sense of the prow of a ship. Doors lead from the living room to a small terrace for morning coffee and then down to a shaded terrace with large outside dining table, traditional pizza oven and stunning views over woodland and mountains without another dwelling in sight. Broad steps from the terrace lead to the lawn and a stunning infinity pool (10 x 5 meters) that appears to hover over the forest. This upper pool cascades down to a hidden half circle infinity plunge pool with a 10 foot radius. A wooden deck with soft outdoor sofas provides shaded seating whilst numerous sun loungers and recliners surround two sides of the pool. All give stunning views of the forests and hills.
The combination of utter silence and highly oxygenated air from the surrounding woodland ensure a good night’s sleep and a restful stay.
This property can also be let with Casa Dell’Angelo to sleep up to 24 guests, making it the ideal location for families and large groups or celebrating a special event.

“Last year we stayed in the sister villa up the hill and fell in love with this beautiful part of Tuscany. This year we decided to return for two weeks, to celebrate a significant birthday, and it was even better than we remembered.
The villa is deceptively large and has been tastefully refurbished to an extremely high standard. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to escape to both inside and outside, should you wish to have some quiet time, whilst the communal areas are spacious and the pool is out of this world. At night the bats flit across the surface, and the view of the stars from the bottom pool is breathtaking. This is the perfect place to stay in and relax. However, there is also plenty to do in the surrounding areas.”

“We had really a wonderful time at Casa Del Torrentello. The children enjoyed the pool and were very excited about having our own pizza made in the wood fired oven not to mention their joy when they spotted the countless fireflies one night. Even for us grown-ups, it was magical. Relaxing on one of the sunbeds or having a barbecue in the garden made our days perfect. The house is beautifully designed which made us feel very much at home. Thanks to Loris everything was well prepared. Thank you very much for your help during the booking. We got all the information in time and especially the directions to the house were perfectly described.”

We had a wonderful week with a big family group at Casa del Torrentello. The house is lovely and well equipped, with good showers, very comfortable beds and lots of space. The garden and the split level pools are fantastic – surrounded by a serene wooded view and equipped with comfortable furniture and a great shaded terrace. Loris the manager who lives nearby is a great presence – not at all intrusive but very responsive. He cooked delicious pizzas in the terrace pizza oven and helped with great restaurant recommendations and bookings. We will definitely return !

The house is idyllic, in terms of its immediate setting with the most beautiful views, and also extraordinarily peaceful. As I was sitting beside the infinity pool, with the sun going down in the evening, I could hear nothing. This is also true of the surrounding area, where we enjoyed the most beautiful walks. In spite of feeling isolated, the property is easily accessible from Pisa Airport, and also has access to the wonderful local shops in Licciana Nardi, which is only a few minutes drive away down the hill. We were also looked after very well by Loris – nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything, including advice on cooking the most delicious pizzas in the outside pizza oven.

I had not expected the holiday to be as luxurious for the rental cost they charge. Lots of space inside and out, good size pool and different sitting areas. My highlights were : lovey Loris bringing down homemade pizza dough and teaching us how to make them the old wood fired oven; the long walk down the stream and swimming in a natural pool; going to the top of the mountain and having a bbq having watched a sunset. Having visited Tuscany many times I found the area was genuine rustic Italy. In Licciana Nardi I expected to find communication a problem as I have no Italian, but the locals were genuinely friendly and helpful and seemed interested in us. I liked the fact Cowshed products were provided. The peaceful seclusion of the villa nestled in the hills is idyllic and very relaxing. It was much more like a family home than any of the villas I have previously rented. Its easy to give Torrentello the good review it deserves.

What a very, very special, peaceful place this is. The house is perched up on a hump within its very own wooded valley with hardly another property to be seen and far reaching views of distant mountains. The house has a wonderful feel to it – especially welcoming and comfortable with every convenience thought of, a wonderfully spacious kitchen/dining/living space spilling onto terraces and on into the garden and across to the heavenly pool. Loris the caretaker is a gem – wonderfully helpful, energetic, enthusiastic, on hand to help with anything if required, and he speaks excellent English. Glorious walks in every direction, mountaintop villages, exciting river gorges, an inhabited castle just up the hill – entrancing!
